About us

The Kulturis association was founded in 2009 as a project-based non-profit organization with a mission to promote international cooperation in the areas of culture, the arts and education. We create and organize, both independently and in cooperation with other associations and institutions, a wide range of projects aimed at raising awareness about the value and role of culture in modern society. We take special pride in projects that inspire children and youth to explore their own creative potential and appreciate others’ artistic work while challenging social stereotypes and discrimination.
Kulturis was founded by Sara Terzic and Ivana Jovanovic Arsic after years of work in the field of culture, both in Serbia and abroad. Zorana Milićević later joined them as a manager of projects that bring together culture and education.
Kulturis is a member of the NKSS (Association of Independent Cultural Scene of Serbia), a unique platform of organisations, initiatives and individuals, which, through the implementation and exchange of national and international cultural programs, seeks to strengthen the capacity of its member organisations and to establish a dialogue with decision-makers at all levels.

Our team

Sara Terzic

Sara Terzić holds a BA in Spanish Language and Hispanic Literature from the University of Belgrade and an MA in Cultural Tourism and Management from the University of Barcelona. She is a member of the academic network Ibertur, based at the University of Barcelona, where she collaborates on international projects focused on cultural heritage, cultural tourism and international cultural cooperation. She works as a consultant on cultural projects funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.

Ivana Jovanovic Arsic

Ivana Jovanović graduated from the University of Belgrade with a BA in Spanish Language and Hispanic Literature. She also holds an MA in Cultural Management, International Cooperation and Cultural Diplomacy from the University of Barcelona and an M.A. in Hispanic Studies from the University of Belgrade. Her main areas of interest are audience development within cultural institutions and culture and arts education of children and youth. Over the last few years, she has devoted particular attention to audience development in public libraries. She conceived and edited the volume “Planet reader”, a bilingual handbook on the examples of good practice at public libraries across Europe.

Zorana Milicevic

Zorana Milićević holds a BA in Spanish Language and Hispanic Literature from the University of Belgrade and an MPhil in Spanish Language from the Autonomous University of Madrid. She received an MSc and a PhD in Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her PhD thesis on the promotion of gender equality through education is based on 12 months of ethnographic fieldwork in rural Mexico. Her ethnographic experiences with Mexican children are included in the edited volume “Children: Ethnographic encounters”, published by Bloomsbury in 2016. She is particularly interested in the participation of children and youth in social processes that contribute to overcoming different forms of discrimination.
